Adipic Acid (Nylon®)

    Adipic acid is a key intermediate in the production of nylon 6,6, where purity requirements are extremely stringent to ensure defect-free polymerization. The Joechre filter is used both upstream and downstream in the process. Upstream, it concentrates adipic acid crystals in nitric acid ahead of pusher centrifugation, replacing inefficient static decantation. Downstream, it plays a critical role in activated carbon treatment stages that remove trace organic and metallic impurities. The filter’s ability to handle slurries and separate activated carbon in a single, enclosed step makes it ideal for this application, reducing both operational complexity and disposal costs.
